[Apex Legends] Crossplay Support

Related Games: Apex Legends

  • Feature Description:
    The crossplay has been released in Beta, we’ll need a way to know the platform of all players (Origin / PS4 / Xbox One / Steam (soon)).

  • Impact for my app: mid.

  • What is your current pain point?
    The platform is required to get stats of a specific player or provide better insights for the current match.

  • What do you have in mind to solve it?
    Once a player is available in Overwolf events, the platform name or ID should be available as well.

Related question: Apex Legends will be released in Steam in November (Apex Legends™ on Steam), will it be supported and will Overwolf tell us whether the user came from Steam or Origin?

So basically, you asked these two questions:

  1. Will the Apex steam version will be supported? ETA? (how much time after the public release).
    Yes - but no ETA yet.

  2. Will Overwolf tells whether the user came from Steam or Origin?
    Yes.

@eransharv The crossplay has been finally released for everyone, do you have any ETA now?

@surgeon, unfortunately, no ETA yet, but it’s on the agenda on an internal discussion that will be happening soon. So stay tuned to our announcements channel on slack. Or feel free to ask me here whenever you like :slight_smile:
