I had a suggestion that I quite liked, and I would like to implement a feature in my CS:GO app that tells the user the area in the map that they died in when they die, so they can more easily communicate with their team if they are unfamiliar with the map they are playing. This information is shown on the game screen before they die but changes when they enter spectator mode shortly afterwards.
Impact for my app (low, mid, high, show-stopper)
Although I would very much like to pursue this feature, it has a low impact right now.
What is your current pain point?
There is no way to get this information from the game in real time from the Overwolf API as of now.
What do you have in mind to solve it?
An event or info update that tracks when a player moves between areas of the map as shown and named in the top left of the game screen. I’m assuming that the feature is possible to implement because it would just be taking text that is already displayed in the game from it in real time.
